Do you have plans for your life; for your future? Have you ever been given a vision by God regarding His plans for your life? Did you have a dream tucked away in the back of your mind but then ended up losing sight of it because of the evils of this world, the trials you have experienced, and the stress of just living life?
A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.
– Colin Powell
Have you had loss in your life and don’t know how to pick up the pieces again? Are you a woman who feels like she has been trampled underfoot by the ravages of tragedy and suffering? You are not alone. We’ve all been through life’s hardships and these ‘hardships’ can easily suck the life out of us and take away our hope for something greater.
Light a Fire
It’s time to get your dream back that’s buried deep in your soul? When did you start having this dream for your future? As a child or young adult? How long has it been since you’ve allowed your mind to envision something greater than what you are doing now, something greater than yourself? It’s time to latch onto the tiny spark left inside of your spirit and light a fire.
It won’t magically appear however. Fear can easily keep you from going after your dreams. Don’t let fear squash your plans, your joy, and your exuberance for living life. Don’t be afraid of real joy! Let the fire of God’s spirit kindle a fire in your own!
Maybe you are so used to the evil around you. Maybe you are so used to living in a negative world, around negative people, and have trouble believing that you don’t have to be the way ‘they are’. Many people are afraid of greatness, joy, and real life because they are used to smallness, depression, and merely existing. It’s o.k. because you aren’t the only one who goes through this.
If you are willing to admit the truth of the matter, and will take a step of faith and courage, even in the midst of your fear, God will begin leading you towards this greatness by redeeming your dream. If you’ve never had a dream, God will give you one if you only ask. It’s something you have to embrace, run after, and rejoice in.
Take That First Step
It isn’t going to be easy. It takes hard work and determination to fulfill a dream. It won’t fall into your lap. If you are worried that you don’t have the money, education, or talent – don’t! God will take care of it all!
Not everyone needs an education to fulfill God’s plan, but some do. Maybe your dream includes some spiritual gifts that God has placed within you that need to be developed. Maybe education will draw out those spiritual gifts. Whatever it is that God has planned for you will come to pass if you seek Him first.
He will provide the means for your dream to be fulfilled in one way or another. God doesn’t ask us to go somewhere if He wasn’t going to provide the financial sustenance to get us there. If you have ever heard the saying that God cannot steer a ship that isn’t moving – it means that you have to take the first step, even if you aren’t sure where you are headed, and God will steer you in the right direction. If you stay still, God won’t force you to move.
Get Back on Track?
Oftentimes things happen in our life that causes us to derail. If there are things and people that are holding you back, you need to find if it’s worth the sacrifice of missing out on your dream. Maybe these are the things and people who have been holding you back all of your life and didn’t realize it until just now. Either way, you have to put God first.
If putting God first means putting yourself second, and normally it does, then you have to do what’s right for you in terms of God’s dream for your life. Don’t allow yourself to be imprisoned by the wills of other people or things that don’t have your best interest in mind. Use your own will to break free so that you can redeem your dream with the power of the Spirit on your side!
